Monica Ishak

Attorney

Monica Ishak is a first generation American and a native to Palm Beach County. After graduating high school, Monica explored her interests in criminal defense by watching criminal jury trials in her spare time while dual majoring in political science and criminal justice at Florida Atlantic University. Upon graduating, she received the academic honors of magna cum laude. Monica then attended law school at Florida International University in Miami. While studying, Monica practiced as a certified legal intern for Miami’s Public Defender’s Office, where she represented indigent individuals accused of crimes alongside already practicing attorneys. She also continued her practice as a student, interning for private counsel, where she assisted in representing people in both state and federal courts. While in law school, Monica also represented individuals sentenced to death by the State of Florida by assisting in their appellate cases. She was involved on the executive boards of the Criminal Law Society and Palm Beach Legal Society. After graduating law school, Monica began her career, in her hometown, at the Office of the Public Defender of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit of Palm Beach County where she represented her clients in both misdemeanor and felony cases. Monica successfully represented her clients in numerous dispositive motions and jury trials ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies. While there, she was recognized to have the most jury trial experience amongst her comparable colleagues. After her three years of practicing there, Monica decided to join the Skier Law Firm. Throughout her practice, Monica has developed a true passion in advocating for her clients.
